The D-1 Ambassadors 17 and under (Austin Elite) Girls Basketball Team coached by Fonzell Martin, traveled to Dallas, TX to compete in the Big State Flava Showcase tournament on July 5-9. This tournament was hosted on the SMU Campus where some of the best teams in the nation competed. After a first game lost by 1 pt to Arkansas Hawks, AE17u STORMed back to finish 3rd in the North Texas 17u Division. The team posted impressive wins over perennial power Texas Top Prospects, Houston Heat and Texas ICE. With break out performances by Dy’Mesheon Hyder –Pflugerville, Allison Terry -McCallum and Adesuwa Ebomwonyi -Pflugerville, the team competed at a high level and have really been impressive of late on the defensive end.
