Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Austin Elite Martin goes an impressive 5 -1 and finishes in Top 8, one game from final four, in the 2010 Basketball in the Boro Showtime 17u Division. After winning their pool with victories over powers Memphis Elite, Southeast Dynasty, Georgia Hoopstars, Westside Elite and Tennessee Glory, the team ran out of gas against South Florida Lady Jags and lost by 7 in a back and forth contest.
Coach Martin said he was very proud of the girls and that this was the best and most complete team performance that they had given the entire season. They played with passion and heart and outstanding defense, as was evident in holding Memphis Elite to only 10 pts at half time. With over 240 total teams in various brackets and over 220 college coaches in attendance, the exposure was outstanding for the players. Now as Jay-Z would say - its on the next one! - next stop New Orleans for the Nike Basketball on the Bayou. Texas D-1 Ambassadors-AE 15u will also be travelling to New Orleans Battle On The Bayou. Placed in a extremely competitive pool, they went an outstanding 3-2 at the Boro finishing near the top of their division and if not a lucky last second buzzer beater in overtime would have finished with an ever better record.
