What a wild 1st quarter! Hendrickson is up big, 23-10. The pace is frenetic. Los Dos Jalens (Harris & Washington)are putting up big numbers with 20 between them.
Jalen Harris has picked up his 3rd foul early in the 2nd for Hendrickson and Joseph Omozee has come alive on the boards for the Panthers. A big dunk by Cleveland Smith!...and we have a ball game. 25-20 Hendrickson. A nice catch and shoot three pointer by Smith gives the Pantherd their first lead 33-32 2ith 2:10 left in the half. Pflugerville picked up the pace with a 30 point 2nd quarter. Hendrickson is not the same team with Harris on the bench.
At the half, Harris has 12, Washinton has 10. For Pflugerville, Cleveland Smith has 16 , Joseph Omozee 8 & Mitchell 8.
At the end of the 3rd a key steal and bucket by Deon Mitchell has given P'Ville a 54-50 lead. Harris has picked up his 4th foul.
With 2:30 left only a whisker separates the two teams. Pflugerville 70-68. Mitchell has some type of leg injury that's caused him to leave the game. Pflugerville 76-71, with 28 seconds to play.
This was a great game to watch. Two rivals going at it until the end with the homecourt Panthers taking the win. Demetris "Cleveland" Smith showed why he's a signee with Lamar of the Southland Conference as he had a little extra gas in his tank down the stretch as he dropped 27 points and 13 rebounds, many of them key in the last two minutes.
Jalen Harris had 19 even though he was saddled with foul problems and 2011 W Jalen Washington had a game high 28 and 7 rebounds. Washington compares favorably with 2010 Jordan Clarkson (Tulsa) at the same point a year ago. He has a smooth stroke and can slash to the goal, given the slightest crack in the defense.
Hendrickson 23 14-13-26-76
Pflugerville 10-30 -14-26-80
