The No. 3 Chargers toppled No. 1 Jay 70-57 at home and improved to 9-1.

Coming into tonight's game San Antonio John Jay was listed by the SA Express News as the number one team in the San Antonio area. This was a great game as both teams came out on fire and really shooting the ball very well. Churchill knew this would be a great test for their team and could really give them some momentum going into this weeks tournament at North East ISD. The first half was a game of execution for both sides as they remained discipline within their offense & attacked when they could.  Neither team could pull away to take command and John Jay took a 4 point lead into the half.

San Antonio Churchill Lady Chargers
John Jay came out in the second half with lots of energy. They took a nine point lead early in the third, but Churchill came back to only be down 1 at the end of three. Churchill caught fire in the fourth quarter and put Jay away 70-57

2011 G 5'11 Erica Donovan of Jay has superior skills. The North Carolina State commit was a tough match up for Churchill as she dropped a quiet 18.

2011 G  5'8 Jordan Holub lead Churchill with 25. Jordan has great range on her shot, and doesn't mind attacking the basket. Jordan has good skills, knows how to run a team and will be an asset at the next level.

2013 F 6'1 Aleeya Harris put in work last night. Harris gave you 17 and did damage on the boards. The sophomore has nice footwork around the basket and defends very well. look for Aleeya to be a nice prospect in the class of 2013.

2011 G 5'7 Leslie Vorpahl had a really good game. She led that third quarter comeback for the Chargers and finished the game with 19. Vorpahl has excellent ball handling skills with a great mid range shot. Leslie will be a nice asset to teams at the next level.

2013 G 5'10 Carly Truesdale is a high quality player that competes on a very high level. With her size and ability to handle the basketball she becomes a tough match up for most defenders. Carly has excellent ball handling, passing, and shooting skills with great moves to take you off the bounce. Carly had to sit most of third quarter due to foul trouble. Truesdale showed great maturity with her ball handling and outstanding court vision. One of the things I like most about Carly is the way she moves without the ball, and her ability to come off screens to shoot. Truesdale is academically sound with great skills and will be a major prospect in the class of 2013.
