Congratulations to Austin Westlake's Cody Doolin for reaching the 2000 point plateau for his career. Achieving the goal against Austin Bowie a few days ago was slightly overshadowed by the first district loss of the season to their rival. However, it's a significant achievement for the four year varsity letterman who will be off to the University of San Francisco (West Coast Conference) in the next couple of months.

Unlike San Antonio, which has kept a clear count of how many points their career scoring leaders have it is fuzzy for Austin. I've been unable to confirm who has the record for this area. Currently Doolin stand at 2012 points. I'd love to hear from someone that might have kept an accurate count. Former Texas Longhorn star A.J. Abrams of Round Rock McNeil would be one who comes to mind as perhaps being the measuring stick.

Doolin, shown below with the Texas D-1 Ambassadors along with his summer backcourt mate Paul Garnica of San Antonio Lee (Northern Colorado) have achieved some amazing heights. These two kids are pure point guards first, and score as needed. My hat's off to Cody and Paul. It could be a while before we see the likes of them again anytime soon.
