Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Team Hardge 87 Gulf Coast Blue Chips-Jackson 70
Team Hardge opened the GASO event in College Station last night with a convincing 87-70 win over the Gulf Coast Blue Chips. Scoring was balanced, with 14 being the magic number. Four players finished with 14 points each. They were Deon Mitchell of Pflugerville, Josiah Monroe of Bastrop, Jalen Washington of Pflugerville Hendrickson & Jonathan Perry of Kerrville Tivy (Fork Union Prep).

Texas D-1Ambassadors-Team Hardge 86 San Antonio Scorpions 65
D-1 jumped out to a 51-28 half time lead and coasted to the win, 86-65. This team just does not have a killer instinct and the mentality to step on people's throats. 2011 G Josiah Monroe of Bastrop led with 21 points. he was the most aggressive offensive player on the floor, by far as he went strong to the hole on a regular basis.
From left to right: 2011 G Jonathan Perry of Fork Union (VA), Deon Mitchell of Pflugerville & Dylan Cox of Cedar Park.

In a one sided romp, Deon Mitchell had 25 points while Josiah Monroe added 17. 2011 WG Dylan Cox of Cedar Park, just coming back from spring football also looked good as he adds his brand of hustle to go along with a nice skill set.
South Texas Valley Hoopsters 75 Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Team Josephs 72 (OT)
All the credit goes to the kids from The Valley as they hit big shots when it counted for the win. The Hoopsters were led by 2010 P Ryan Evans of McAllen (Schreiner University) who battled the bigger Ambassadors players downlow. The leading scorer was 2011 PG Aaron Olivera of Edinburg. He dropped 30 points, including 6 from behind the arc. His ballhandling was also stellar. 2012 WG 6'3" Aaron Ramirez of Santa Rosa appears to be a prospect. He can shoot the three, blocks shots, and rebounds much bigger than his size.
2011 W 6'3" Kyle Rutledge of San Antonio Clark had 18 points and 8 rebounds in the loss. 2012 G Adam Perez of San Antonio Clark had 13 points and has a nifty way of getting to the rack along with a solid perimeter game. Clark & Connor Lammert of San Antonio Churchill also had 9 points a piece.
2012 P Connor Lammert (below) continues to show improvement in all areas of his game. He seemed a little tired today, perhaps because of the rigors of competing at the Pangos All American Camp in Los Angeles, CA.
Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Team Cress 92 Corpus Christi Panthers 82
Playing with only 6 players and battling foul trouble the D-1 Ambassadors erased a 43-36 half time deficit and turned it up to win going away. With 2011 G Jake Kocher & 2012 P Drew Wikelius out of town at the Denver University Elite Camp and hard charging billy Sharakas home fighting illness Team Cress got great leadership from their two big time players.
2011 W 6'5" Jaleel Williams a high major was on from the perimeter, inside and on the boards as he tallied 39 points and 9 rebounds in what I thought was the performance of the day. 2011 combo guard Eric McClellan an explosive scorer and penetrator added 20 points and had 10 assists.

Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Team Hargis 56 Houston Hurricanes 45
Team Hargis jumped out to a 15-0 lead and never looked back as 2011 P 6'5" Big David Weathers of Austin LBJ was tough around the goal, notching 15 points in the W. Rapidly improving 2011 P 6'7" Zac Chambers of Round Rock also added 11 as the D-1 Ambassadors gave the Hurricanes the business on the boards. 2012 WG 6'4" Alex Caruso of A&M Consolidated continues to impress with his court vision, knack of getting to the rim and his ability to ELEVATE. Caruso is a high major in the making.
