Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Hardge 99 Galveston Hornets 95 (OT)

Texas D-1 Ambassadors-Team Hardge notched their 18th win in a row, besting the Galveston Hornets 99-95 in OT to capture the Great American Shootout in College Station this past weekend. 

From left to right: 2011 P 6'6" Logan Webb of Georgetown, 2011 PG 5'9" Josiah Monroe of Bastrop, 2011 WG 6'4" Jonathan Perry of Fork Union (VA), Coach Mike Hardge, 2011 W 6'5" Jalen Washington of Pflugerville Hendrickson, 2011 PG Deon Mitchell of Pflugerville, 2011 WG 6'4" Dylan Cox of Cedar Park, 2011 W 6'4" Allantae Faust of Harker Heights, and 2012 PG Michael Hardge of Georgetown.

The Championship game was a wild and woolly affair.  The D-1 Ambassadors came out with great energy and at times led by as many as 18, holding a 49-36 lead.  The Galveston Hornets began to shoot three pointers and they were deadly.  Several times they pulled 30 footers and drained them.  They were tough.  Attributes of this D-1 Ambassadors team (and a hall mark of the organization) is it's chemistry, depth, & balance.

By the numbers:

Jonathan Perry had 18 points and 4 steals
Deon Mitchell had 18 points and 5 assists
Dylan Cox had 18 points
Josiah Monroe had 16 points
Jalen Washington had 14 points and 6 rebounds
                                      Michael Hardge had 9 points
