San Antonio Churchill 69 Fort Bend Elkins 53
San Antonio Churchill, fresh off their Lone Star Invitational Championship are trying their lot against some of Houston's finest in the Outback Tournament. Churchill has easily beaten Fort Bend Austin, & Houston Memorial allowing them to go deep into their bench and keeping starters fresh for a stretch run. Last night's game was more competitive as the Chargers pulled away at the end for the W. Today's game should be an interesting matchup as they'll tangle with Fort Bend Bush in the semis. It will be interesting to see the matchup between power player 2012 P 6'10" Cameron Ridley of Bush & 6'9" 2012 F Connor Lammert of Churchill who plays a more finess, face up style of game.

Dylan Elias (Northern Colorado) had 21 for Taft.
Austin Bowie 57 San Antonio MacArthhur 47
Bowie took away Mac's main scoring options (Gramling & Pratt), while 2011 P Connor Robinson went to work down low and dropped 27 points in the win.

Pflugerville Tournament
I was in the house and caught two games at Pflugerville's Tournament on Friday.
Pflugerville 86 San Antonio Reagan 64
This one was a bit of a shock to me as Reagan has as good a talent as anyone in the area. However, they ran into a buzzsaw on the Panthers home court. After exchanging buckets for the first few minutes, Pflugerville upped the pressure and created a couple of turnovers and subsequent 36-28 lead at the half. The 3rd quarter was all Panthers and the rout was on. Deon Mitchell (Northern Iowa) did a masterful job, showing why he's a high level college prospect as he scored an efficient 17 points, together with 9 assists (many which were impressive looks). The rest o fht scoring for P'ville was balanced. Storm Woods had 14, Jamaal Shabazz had 12 & Cameron Blue added 11. Pflugerville was deadly behind the three point line all evening.
Reagan's best player was Senior Connor Knight who had 15 points, but most impressively battled on the glass and had 10 rebounds. Max Yon (Air Force) was relatively quiet with 10 points although he had the buzz of the game when he followed a miss off the rim for a signature slam. Tre Demps (Northwestern) had 10 points and 6 rebounds but they came in the latter part of the game when the outcome was no longer in doubt.
Pflugerville Hendrickson 80 Austin Akins 77
This game was nip and tuck. Hendrickson held the lead for most of the game, until the last couple of minutes when Akins almost stole the W. Foul trouble kept Akins from having their best players on the floor for a good portion of the game and that may have been the difference.
Hendrickson's Jalen Washington (decommitted from Mount St. Mary's) has become the area's most versatile player. He's developed his ballhandling and is definitely capable of running the point. He's a big guard at 6'5" and is super long. He had 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists & 4 steals in the win.
Akins was led by PG Yolonzo Moore (Hartford) who had 35 points, 5 assists & 5 rebounds. Scoring 30 plus is becoming a habit for the talented senior.
